a million steps

curious about how long it would take to take a million steps i zeroed out my pedometer before going to bed on april 15th. yesterday i passed the million mark, so roughly 66 days. the more i walk, the more i realize that our fair city treats pedestrians as third class citizens. personally i'm sick of it. the seattle department of transportation (sdot) is developing a pedestrian master plan, which is probably intended as to be anemic document with pretty words that makes it sound like we care, we really really care, about those nice people who choose not to drive. the reality is that sdot is a juggernaut that almost entirely focuses on automobiles and will continue to do so until the people take back our city.
