Re: House Defense Appropriations Sub-Committee Chairmanship

Congratulations on your impending appointment. What an incredible opportunity to change the world! If you wanted to leave a lasting meaningful impact on the world you could take this new position as an opportunity to lead the charge to cut the military budget by 80 to 90% to a level that would allow for the US to safely protect our borders and eliminate our overbearing imperial presence around the globe (including ending the wars on Iraq and Afghanistan). The saved money would allow the government to permanently provide medical insurance to all our citizens and sustain a healthy social security system and build needed infrastructure like rail systems that will prevent spiraling global warming caused primarily by the US's wasteful ways.

Of course you could also take over the office as you found it. You could shovel pork into our state to ensure your reelection until the day you die. The US Empire will continue on for the next few decades, consuming a greater and greater percentage of all the tax dollars of our hard working citizens who will never be able to afford to retire, but sure will be able to watch some shiny new military jets flying overhead.

Is this not the greatest nation on the planet ever?
