whitehouse interactive

i stumbled across this on the whitehouse website: it's great, you can ask questions of the whitehose and they answer them on line. here is my first one:

dear attorney general alberto gonzalez: i have noticed that you are not really a very good liar, it is obvious to oh I would guess about 217,253,987 americans when you are simply making it up as you go. body language, whiny and squeaky gay voice, sweaty brow, absurd explanations and so on, all are dead giveaways. have you ever considered taking the rest of the summer off to a summer acting camp, to figure out how the pros do it? i for one felt so bad for you, all squirmy and tongue tied in front of all those senators. a few all simple lessons and you could be as smooth as dick cheney as silky as bill clinton. alberto, it makes the nation weep to see you unable to lie your way out of a paper bag, any common or garden attorney can do that and more. you are the general of all of them, show your confidence, lie as though shakespeare wrote it.

i'm still waiting for the response, they must be checking with alberto.........

bush the elder

apparently george w is not ther only bush thinking about his historical legacy these days.

i came across this very strange photo of bush the elder in the paper the other day (the seattle pi running an ap photo). i had to add a caption as the ap one was a bunch of nonsense.

scooter

interesting: dick cheney is the fourth branch of government that was previously unknown because it was holed up in a secret bunker under the whitehouse. now george w has decided that he is a new part of the judicial branch, one posed above the supreme court, he decided that scooter's sentence was excessive, so he reduced it from 30 months to a much more reasonable number of zero. did george base this on his extensive knowledge of the law? or did he have attorney general alberto "i don't recall" gonzalez do some of the brilliant research he is so admired for? actually according to george: "scooter's reputation as a respected lawyer" has been ruined by his conviction. what about scooter's reputation as a conniving manipulator who has used his skills to destroy people who oppose dick cheney over the years and whose fingerprints are all over the plan to go to war in iraq? was that part of his reputation destroyed by his conviction?
